love Charlotte Love

Kensal-Rise_15_6_12--0580

A few weeks ago I caught sight of the talented & super lovely work of Charlotte Love over at the equally lovely Creature Comforts blog. I bookmarked her pastel & ice-cream inspired test shoot by photographer Jonathan Gooch so that I could share it with you here.

ship shape

It’s been one of those days… busy as a bee and on-the-go all day. But I’m just popping in to share a dash of colour and a few shapes with you.

These prints full of pattern and colour from The Print Shop make me want to do a little happy dance. I’d imagine they would look amazing collaged on the wall together with other style prints, perhaps more delicate illustrations or some retro designed artwork…

showcase: Niky Roehreke

1

The mixed media fashion illustrations from Niky Roehreke caught my eye this morning… this German/Japanese artist knows bright bold colours and isn’t afraid to use them.

2

Niky graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2008 and currently splits her time between Tokyo and New York where she draws, doodles and paints her days away. With a particular fondness for hands, this unique illustrator skilfully collages her work for a wide variety of clients.

showcase: Penelope Dullaghan

bikefest

The sweet and colourful art of Penelope Dullaghan caught my interest on Pinterest recently and I promptly bookmarked her site because I knew you’d love her illustrations as much as I do! They’re delightfully vibrant, cheerful, but do you know the thing which really grabbed my attention? Penelope’s truly joyful way with colour.

Penelope has a large portfolio of editorial and advertising work. These are some of her happy illustrations which I enjoyed…

showcase: Liam Brazier

polarpercussion

The work of illustrator and animator Liam Brazier was featured in the December issue of Design Times and grabbed my attention immediately. I find it inconceivable to click past a graphic & geometrically inclined artwork, so it’s a no brainer that these distinctively angular illustrations by this London-based artist were right up my street.

runningman

Having created illustration and animation work for the likes of Apple, Samsung, Dazed & Confused, Design Week, the Museum of London, London tube platforms, international film festivals, Virgin TV, and nationwide cinemas, Liam’s idiosyncratic style has deservedly captured the attention of many others.

dark_lord

Alluding to many a pop culture villain & hero, Liam’s work is original in the manner in which he creates it. Starting with a composition in mind, Liam used to meticulously cut the angled shapes from paper (painful and laborious, by the sounds of it) but now builds the collage up in Photoshop… a far safer method with less finger injuries, one would hope.
