HELLO hello hello/

Readers and friends, I've been bad about bringing you backstage this week but to say the least, it's been busy!  Still, I have plenty to show and tell. First, my book came out this evening!! Just a little something we put together with the group at Modelinia and it looks great! I was a bit nervous but the end result is fantastic, a collection of images from the past Fall/winter 2009 season in New York, Paris, and Milan. Have a look on the website, or get yourself a copy through blurb. Go for the hardcover, it's the perfect size!

Due to internet issue, you're going to have to wait for photos here BUT please look at the beauty images on style.com, or the Model Transformations on the NYTimes Magazine blog [there are two, Marc Jacobs and Oscar de la Renta].

Also, if you would like to see a cheeky little bit about me, read my profile on the New York Magazine online.

Alright, it's time to sleep! Stay posted for my NY faves the next few days.

QUICK snaps from Richard Chai/

Last night was fantastic! Ohne Titel, Richard Chai, Alex Wang after party w/ Courtney Love and Love Magazine... Awesome! Doesn't get any better.

Look at the Love website for pics later but in the meantime, here are some quick snaps from Chai and Ohne Titel before I run back out the door:

THEY'RE baaack/

Hello, faithful readers. New York Fashion Week is only a few days away and just walking out of the house yesterday was like walking into a casting call.. The Soho streets were buzzing - and for the girls, the new season has only just begun. Phones blazing with go see directions, bags filled with portfolios and the spoils of last season [sometimes a girl will do a show for trade and only gets the chance to pick up the clothes in exchange the season after the show]. Still, excitement is in the air and already-tired legs on the street. Here are a few of my faves that always bring a light to my eye:

BLACK Acid Co-op

Between the ready to wear and made to measure I have been following the art collective of Jonah Freeman and Justin Lowe who have created the Black Acid Co-op in New York City. This is an amazing project installed at the Deitch project and if you're in town, you should definitely check it out. Above is the New York Magazine review, complete w/ photo by yours truly. For more, have a look in the New York Times this coming saturday.

KISSING off couture/

Thanks again to all of you who have followed me along my travels. I know I'm not the most frequent blogger, but when I do post it's good to know you are with me along the way. Below is a selection from one of my Paris favorites, Jean Paul Gaultier:

LACROIX is a rose / and Givenchy is an axe!

Christian Lacroix showed what may be his last collection today.  It was a very sad and somber backstage, w/ seamstresses and staff shedding a tear and toting cameras to remember what may be, to me at least, one of his most modern and best collections.  Even the models felt the mood, and makeup rolled down the cheeks of more than a few.  I will truly miss visiting this house as they are some of the nicest people in the business and it's always a pleasure to be part of their shows.
On the other end of the spectrum, Riccardo Tischi at Givenchy proved that the ball is in his court.  His was a stellar collection and most likely the best we will see this season.  Interestingly enough, M. Lacroix was in attendance and you can see him in the background of one of the photos below.
