hello everyone. Those delicious plum shades from yesterday’s guest post seem to be creeping into this Snap! today. It’s raining cats & dogs in Cape Town today and this painting reminds me of a misty morning along a river. A neat row of gorgeous shiny Volkswagen Beetles is the perfect colour match in a retro palette.

hello friends! I’ve been a busy bee at home this week… painting furniture in my son’s bedroom white (and almost everything else that stops moving for 5 minutes!) There’s always such a thrill to see a chair or wall unit go from drab to fab with just a few coats of fresh white paint. I’m feeling almost Scandinavian with all this white on white. Love it.

This Snap! is all about freshness too… the minty aqua of these pants from Kate Emilio’s spring line and the coffee cup from Lenka’s flickr stream make the perfect match.

well hello… time for another Snap! This one is colour saturated and takes no prisoners. Certainly not for those who prefer pastels.

I wonder what my morning coffee would taste like in these multi-hued Anthropologie latte bowls? (not that I’ll ever know since Anthro is another amazing store which we do not have in South Africa. sad face.)

And just imagine how bright you’d feel in this lecture hall… stylish learning indeed.

the sweetest thing

Happy Monday! I thought you needed a little sweetness to start the week off on the right note… aren’t these pastel pink pompoms lovely? All this Snap! needed was the perfect ballet pink ruffly cake to complete the picture. My little niece is having a hello kitty party today, with lots of pink and plenty of ruffles happening… so today’s post is about as girly as you get. Nothing but pastel, pink and a whole lot of pretty.

This week it seems that pattern is catching my attention and this gorgeous zig-zaggy rug in the warmest of autumn hues has totally won me over! I love the contrast of the bright pumpkin and more mellow apricot against the cool charcoal grey, both on the rug and in this stunning ensemble.
