Caroline Issa has a contagious smile & knows how to rock the colour red. Aside from making a chic statement in the front row at shows & being a sartorial magnet for street style blogs, she’s the publisher and fashion director at Tank, an independent art and fashion magazine based in London. Always a favourite of mine, this exotic beauty with brains is my Street Style Muse for today!

The blending of art & fashion will always make me smile, so when I read about Mother of Pearl’s autumn/winter 2012 collection over on Trendland, I was excited. The mix of print & pattern, colour & texture is creative and I must say that I love the vibrant palette of royal blue/burnt orange/plum/blush.

For this collection, Mother of Pearl has collaborated with New York-based artist Fred Tomaselli to produce a series of prints with mixed visual references. The real, the photographic & the painterly are all combined to create a collection rich in hyperdelic imagery.

last week I guest posted about the colourful & hip fashion label 46664 Fashion for Freeworld Design Centre…

The global expansion of 46664 Fashion began last week on July 18 with the launch of the brand in North America on Mandela Day. This uniquely African fashion brand expresses the vitality, diversity, quirkiness and youthful vigour of the continent upon which it was conceived. The apparel brand designed by Chris Vogelpoel and Barbara Tosalli is firmly rooted in Africa and focuses on promoting Nelson Mandela's humanitarian legacy. Their winter lookbook is vibrant, eye-catching and embraces Madiba’s inspiring mantra, “A brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”

But does yet another clothing label make economical savvy in a financial recession? Well, according to Brand ID, the brand custodian & master license holder in the US, the global expansion of 46664 Fashion will also see “an increase in funds flowing into 46664 and the possibility of creating jobs in South Africa’s local manufacturing industries. This means that the brand is also making good on its underpinning intention, which is to provide a sustainable source of income for 46664’s humanitarian work and also have a positive impact on the struggling clothing and textile sectors.”

In support of the community, Marie Claire magazine in partnership with GOLD, a dynamic non-profit organisation benefiting the youth, will presented a Pop-Up University at the Plascon Freeworld Design Centre. Five well-known personalities shared their insights and inspirations with GOLD’s youth, aiming to inspire these peer leaders, who in turn will influence and inspire their peers.

Guilty as charged!
Photos arrived on Wednesday, but i had so many things to do, so i took a short, three days offline vacation!
But i`m ready on Friday for a new post! ;)
Now, you have a chance to see the "making of" photos, and how much fun we had! I also added the original photos, and i tagged all the clothes for those who didn`t get their copy, or live abroad, but still wanted to know what we were wearing on that day.
Let`s talk about my outfit now: it was an instant love, it could be called love at the first sight. I found the whole combination at Mango store in less than five minutes. Something between harem and regular pants in print, electric blue loose shirt, and gorgeous coral linen blazer as a perfect summer piece for a chilly nights, windy days or for a strict company dress code as a smart twist to get away from a boring rules and black&blue clothes (some women still needs to cover their hands during the summer). Cherry on top was definitely dark blue hat and my favorite Michael Kors watch. At the beginning we started with a braid on my head (i love how it looks like ), but it didn`t match to the outfit so we decided to ruin it, and make a messy hair look! ;) I`m really glad that you like it, and i wanna thank you for your lovely comments that you left! Hoping we will be able to repeat something similar in the near future and try to be even more creative.

These four ladies were stars for a one day, and it couldn`t be possible without all the people behind this project, so huge thanks to Vanja, Andreja, Srdjan and Ana! ;)

this hyper-dramatic night time editorial captured by Thomas Whiteside for the August edition of Elle US exudes glamour & a sense of mystery. The elegant styling by Grace Cobb using pieces from Tommy Hilfiger, Oscar de la Renta & Carolina Herrera supports the surreal lighting & photographic techniques. Loved this!
