Gucci pre-fall 2012
I have to admit that I did a little happy dance when I saw Gucci’s prefall collection. Nothing gets my pulse racing quite like a great print… it’s the textile designer in me, I’m afraid. Make it a floral print and I’m smitten. But make that floral print a pansy one… well, then I have no words.
Frida Giannini’s collection for Gucci was a kind of stylishly horsey garden party… gloriously pops of bold colour amidst the more neutral shades one would expect of a fall collection, and beautifully rendered pansy prints on flowing dresses and cropped trousers. So, expecting to pick just a few of the looks I loved actually turned into posting most of the looks I adored from this equestrian inspired, pansy studded collection.

Colour Burst: Gucci Fall 2011
Gucci’s 90th anniversary show pops with eye-opening colours in unexpected combinations. Frida Giannini has ensured that Fall 2011 will not be short of rich, jewel tones with fiercely glamorous Seventies inspirations, to the tune of Anjelica Huston & Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine. The vivid combination of olive green, ultramarine and cerulean blue is pure genius!

The Gucci Spy That Loved Me
Normally I’d pick and choose the looks I like from a collection [in an ideal world, of course], but the Gucci pre-Fall 2011 collection has made it very difficult indeed to find the looks I don’t like. I would wear everything in a nanosecond, and I especially love the luxurious mix of fabrics and textures: the velvet, fur, wool, leather and print. The colours are bang on too, and those wide-brimmed hats are what glamorous spies circa 1970 dreamt of!
