Lemlem: made in Ethiopia
When Liya Kebede, supermodel and World Health Organisation's Goodwill Ambassador for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, realised that artisan weavers in her native country of Ethiopia were losing their jobs from the decline in demand for their wares, she was moved to do something about it. The beauty, quality and cultural importance of the art of weaving in Ethiopia inspired Liya to start Lemlem in 2007.
Lemlem, which means to flourish or bloom in Amharic, is a handcrafted collection of gorgeous women’s and children’s clothing and accessories: a truly unique and inspirational story of preservation and heritage.
Cutest onesies in a delicate striped palette!
